Director’s Message
It is my immense pleasure to welcome you to the University College Batangala (UCB) of the University of Vocational Technology (UoVT). I am proud and honored to introduce our College as a leading institution dedicated to Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), located in the Kegalle District of Sri Lanka. We are committed to empowering young people with knowledge, skills, and competencies required for meaningful employment, entrepreneurship, and lifelong success.
Far from being a last resort, TVET is now recognized as a pillar of national progress—crucial for job creation, self-reliance, and sustainable development. At UCB, we proudly contribute to this mission by shaping the future of young minds through high-quality, industry-relevant education. Our graduates enjoy a very high employability rate, reflecting their proven competencies, hands-on experience, and entrepreneurial mindset.
At University College Batangala, students engage in practical, skill-oriented, and competency-driven learning that bridges the gap between education and the workplace. With strong industry collaborations at the heart of our programs, every student graduates as a confident professional—job-ready from day one.
We offer Higher National Diploma (HND) NVQ Level VI and NVQ Level V Technology and Management courses, accredited by TVEC, ensuring that our qualifications are both nationally and internationally recognized. Students also benefit from the guidance of our dedicated academic staff and have the opportunity to continue their studies towards the Bachelor of Technology degree with UoVT, providing a seamless pathway for further academic and professional growth.
During your three-year journey—two years of classroom sessions and one year of On-the-Job Training (OJT)—you will experience unique opportunities that broaden your knowledge, deepen your skills, and enhance your adaptability, creativity, and problem-solving ability. Our aim is to produce globally competent professionals and entrepreneurs, grounded in practical skills and high ethical standards, who can contribute meaningfully to society.
